The Icebreaker: from Alaska to OC

2024 Icebreaker

Hype Her Hoops: Ice Breaker was an absolute take over and emphasized the powerful basketball players that traveled here to Orange County! Not only did they break the ice- they brought in a tidal wave of competition. With a mix of close games, blowouts, and buzzer beaters teams were put to the test. At Icebreaker there were a whopping 97 teams in attendance with teams that are the best of the best in Orange County and across the nation. Teams from Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Arkansas and even Alaska. Throughout the weekend you could feel the floor shaking with excitement as players battled it out to be champions. Events like the Hype Her Hoops: Icebreaker are transforming the name of the game and taking youth girls basketball to new heights.

This event in particular featured the Hype Her Hoops Scouting Report write-ups, a NCAA certified program that connects recruitable players to college coaches with in-depth analysis on their game during prime events. To read more about the Scouting Report, click here.

3rd/4th grade

Inspired Athletics had a dominant performance at the Icebreaker outscoring their opponents nearly by 20 plus points per game. This dominance could not be stopped as Inspired Athletics steamrolled to the top and claimed the title of Champions.

5th Grade Gold/Silver

Cal Storm 11U Black were red hot through the tournament putting up monstorous points in the paint, leaving their opponents in the dust. Not only did they score they established themselves as a defensive stronghold limiting all teams to score less than 20 points against them which was key to them being champions. 

5th Grade Bronze  

Primo Lady Soldiers lead their forces to a victory at the Icebreaker by storming the boards for rebounds, and getting major steals leading to fastbreak easy points. The Lady Soldiers will go undefeated in the tournament crowning them champions in the bronze division. 

6th Grade Gold

SES was just pouring it in the paint and could not be contained by any defense. They were racking up rebounds like no tomorrow. As a result for the team they finished with a record or (4-0) alongside coming out on top.

6th Grade Silver/Bronze

Athlet4 Christ put on an absolute show at the tournament crushing their opponents by large margins. Finishing with a record 5-0 and became easy champions with their all around great game play.
