
The best of girls youth basketball on the West Coast
This weekend, Northern and Southern California were believing the Hype, with the Hype Her Hoops Spring Live taking over Orange County and Sacramento in the top NCAA certified live event for youth girls basketball tournaments in the West Coast. The Hype Her Hoops experience encapsulated it all, new merchandise, high social and media coverage to amplify the girls on the court and over 40 college coaches looking to recruit the best for the D1, D2 and D3 campuses.
Along with the Hype Her Hoops experience, youth girls basketball was highlighting specific players who show strong promise for their basketball careers with the Scouting Report, an NCAA certified scouting service created by Hype Her Hoops. The Scouting Report analyzed a hooper’s game on the court to give specific and detailed praise for their work ethic. Along with the reports was highlighting daily top stat performers, with stats powered by the Passport, whose numbers showed off the level of talent on the rosters was translating onto the court.

NorCal
5th Grade
YBA Aftermath Panthers GEE were going crazy at the Spring Live NorCal scoring on what appeared to be every possession. The Panthers dropped 53 points in one game. Blake Kalfsbeek had an amazing performance putting up 20 with 5 3PM in a game to help guide her team to victory.
6th Grade
Central Cali Elite were killing it at Spring Live NorCal, winning every game they played crowning them Champions of the weekend. Cali Elite fought hard in every game putting in the extra effort that gave them the edge. The team’s ability to rebound was the foundation of their game as they were able to out rebound all of their opponents leading to the win.
7th Grade
Richardson Academy was on another level at Spring Live going a whopping 5-0 to become champions. Richardson Academy were offensive juggernauts, helping them with their undefeated streak. Kari Mahry Paulino-hayes had an outstanding performance scoring double digit points in 4 out of her 5 games.
8th Grade
Team NorCal played up and rose to the occasion to become champions going undefeated during the event. NorCal played all around great basketball getting major steals that led to major buckets. Shay Johnson was quite the standout of Team NorCal with 12 PTS 3 REB and 2 AST in one of their key victories.
15U
Storm Nike went on a tear at Spring Live NorCal going undefeated throughout the event. Storm Nike were offensive machines, just pouring it in the paint. A standout player for the team was Brookesly Wilson who scored a combined 59 points at the event pushing her team to victory.
16U
Jason Kidd Select was playing fundamental basketball at the event, and it paid off as then went on to win every game. The team was very hot offensively but what really turned the tide for the team was their elite ability to rebound, crashing the boards. They were also very efficient from the three point line which created major advantages and led to their W.
17U
Jason Kidd Select cruised their way to the top of 17U going without a loss all tournament long. The best part of their game was their defense; the team’s strong attack defense led to turnovers and big fast breaks. Along with their defense was their ability to move the ball around, creating space and finding the open man for the shot.
SoCal
4th/5th Grade
Primo Lady Soldiers stormed into Spring Live SoCal and came out champions. The team was able to rebound efficiently leading to fast breaks for easy buckets, or second chance points. Sapphire Shearer had a double double at the event which was a key factor in their big games.
6th Grade
RJH 5th
RJH came to play at Spring Live SoCal to ultimately become champions after working hard on the courts. RJH were efficient in getting easy buckets to build a big lead during their games. The best part about their game play working together as a team to help bring victory.
7th/8th Grade
CPT Knights battled on their way to the top of the food chain to become champions. CPT had some close games but were able to overcome major obstacles with their good defense and elite scoring ability. Kaylee Albritton had a major performance, nearly dropping 20 points in 2 games.
15U
GS40 were absolutely focused at the SoCal Spring Live as each player did not miss, which led to easy wins. TeamG S40 were lethal sharp shooters from the 3PT line making nearly 30 3 point baskets. Team G were also spreading the ball around very effectively creating good looks for their teammates.
16U
Cal Storm EYBL were a team that could do it all whether it was rebounding, getting assists, blocking shots…Cal Storm did it. Cal Storm battled hard in their games having close scores in the beginning but eventually building a substantial lead and captivating the crowd of support that went to see them in action.
17U
Hustle Prep 16U had an amazing performance at SoCal Spring Live going undefeated and dominating their opponents. Hustle Prep was an average of 10 or more steals each game leading to easy points coming off transition.
