Summer Crush encompasses talent and tough competition in the Bay Area basketball scene
Day 1
Let’s take a look at the second summer tournament of Hype Her Hoops 2025, Summer Crush!
Player standouts:
Arabella Valbuena, a long time strong player for Team NorCal is on top of the stats platform (@sportspassports) with an incredible 25 PT, 5 3PM.
Lilicca Giometti is a strong representation of the force of players in the Bay Area (playing with Bay City Gold); 25 PT, 7 3PM.
Bueno, a longtime Hype Her Hoops participant has Hanna Shehorn playing for them and is a top player with 23 PT, 3 STL and 3 3PM this Saturday.
Team Kidd, a program that houses strong basketball ties to the Bay Area has Eva Nazzal with 22PT and 5 REB.
Out of town team Born 2 Ball came to the Bay Area with a huge crowd of supporters on the benches, and Faanaetaua Puloka on the Varsity team had a well rounded statline with 18 PT, 7 REB, 4 STL and 2 3PM.
Day 2
The competition was one of the most fierce ones witnessed in OGP Oakland, with games going into overtime, game winners and the bleachers rumbling with excitement from parents, friends and family.
Player standouts:
Megan Liu, from SJ Cagers, had a fantastic game scoring 25 PT, 5 STLs, and 3 3PM- showing off her lightness and great footwork with her steals.
Brielle Ordone from OTD was not messing around, securing a stat line with 23 PT, an impressive 10 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Keep your eye on Keenan “Kiki” Warren, a well-rounded player from Lady Soldiers 2029 Gold, Kiki dominated her game with a 20 PT, 6 REB stat line.
Madeleine Ho from (Team Kidd NorCal Gold) shows off her versatility as a powerful 5th grade hooper, had a 20PT, 3 REB, 4 3PM game that solidifies her as a player to watch as she moves up in her divisions.
Team Samurai Silver made their way to Summer Crush and highlighted their talent all weekend. One player in particular, Christine Hou, had 20 PT, 3 REB, 5 STL…showing spectators and competition alike that Team Samurai came to win!
